Serino’S Deli & Wine Bar
Nestled on 5 Station Rd, Stockton-on-Tees, Serino’s Deli & Wine Bar brings a refreshing twist to the classic deli experience with an upscale touch that’s both charming and inviting. Whether you're strolling through Eaglescliffe on a crisp morning or looking for a cozy lunch spot, this place has quietly earned a reputation among locals and travelers alike.
From the moment you walk through the wheelchair-accessible entrance, the space feels like a blend between a rustic Italian café and a modern European wine bar. Wooden tables, warm lighting, and the gentle clinking of wine glasses give the place a homely buzz without being overwhelming. The accessibility-friendly seating ensures comfort for all, while the outdoor tables let you soak up that rare bit of British sunshine.
Now let’s talk food-because that’s really where Serino’s shines.
If you're here for breakfast, go big with the Full English Breakfast. It’s hearty, beautifully presented, and sets the tone for the day. For those looking for something lighter or plant-based, the Avocado Toast or the Scrambled Eggs with Sautéed Mushrooms hit all the right notes-fresh, flavourful, and satisfying without being overly rich. There’s also Granola, Croissants filled with jam or ham, and a smooth Cappuccino that holds its own against any coffee house in town.
Lunch hour brings out a different personality in the kitchen. Their Bruschetta is crisp and balanced, perfect for nibbling while sipping something from their great wine list. Try the Beef Burger if you're after something more indulgent. It’s juicy, grilled to order, and goes exceptionally well with a side of Loaded Fries or their underrated Risotto with pumpkin, which is comforting and creamy without feeling heavy.
What really caught me by surprise, though, was their rotating menu of charcuterie boards and small plates. Ideal for sharing, these boards are curated with a selection of cured meats, cheeses, and seasonal touches that make each visit unique. Add in a glass of organic red or white, and you’ve got a relaxed afternoon sorted.
Craving something sweet? The Carrot Cake and Chocolate Brownie are standout desserts-moist, rich, and clearly made with care. Pair it with a pot from their great tea selection, or if you’re feeling cheeky, maybe a dessert wine or cocktail. They even have foie gras and cornbread for those looking to explore the more gourmet side of the menu.
Another perk? This place is popular for breakfast, lunch, and dinner-which is rare. It serves everyone from solo diners working on their laptops, to couples enjoying date nights, to friends catching up over cocktails. While delivery isn’t available, takeaway is an option for those in a rush, though I’d always recommend staying to enjoy the vibe if you can.
Serino’s also takes pride in its offerings: from vegan dishes to gluten-free options, and even organic healthy plates, there’s clearly thought put into accommodating different dietary needs. You’ll find free water refills on the tables, craft beers, classic spirits, and seasonal cocktails that evolve with the year.
One thing that sets Serino’s apart is the balance between quality and approachability. It doesn’t try too hard-it just delivers, consistently. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place to linger, to discover a new favourite wine, or to reconnect with food in a way that feels relaxed yet refined.
So whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, exploring a new vegan-friendly brunch, or indulging in a late afternoon glass of wine with charcuterie, Serino’s Deli & Wine Bar serves up a little something for everyone.

Excellent food in a fabulous little bistro restaurant. The chef is amazing, the service is really friendly and the music is fab too. Breakfast outside with the dog last week was excellent also and highly recommended (try the avocado and poached egg on sourdough…mmmm).
Do a small menu but do it well. Thought I'd take Pa out for a meal. Was going to take him somewhere new for a change of scene, but he wanted to go to his "local". Go on then, your choice we'll will goto the caf' over road. We'll it's not a cafe, it's a bistro, or is it? As Mavis would say "I don't rightly know" your best bet is to try it yourself. I can't vouch for the lunch menu, but as my father goes for his lunch there whenever possible it must have something about it. But the evening meal was very good. We booked for 5.30 (o'tinternet as Mr Kay would say) which is when they opened. As Dad is getting on a bit, and they recognised him, they asked us if we'd like to move further away from the door, which we did. They then were quite happy for us to move to another table, as Dad is of the "Turn big light on so I can see what I'm eating" generation. (Ambient lighting is not his thing.) Anyway I digress. Suffice to say the service was excellent and the northern soul was at just the right volume to create an atmosphere but we could still talk. The food, which is probably what you are reading this for rather than my ramblings, was excellent. Neither of us wanted a big meal so old fella had belly pork starter and straight onto pud of sticky toffee pudding. The pork apparently was v good and the pud looked big enough to share but it is amazing what oldies can put away, so I can't personally comment as there was none left. I had a mushroom risotto starter which was excellent. Think it said on the menu wild mushrooms, they were certainly tasty and I lost count on the number of types of mushrooms. For main I had one of their small plates, salmon fish cake, which appears to be one of their regulars. That too was very nice. I was going to go for the "beetroot cured salmon cream" srarter, but decided 2 lots of salmon would be a bit weird. Anyway we both had a really good meal, complements to the chef. Where do the cook? Do they exist? As far a I can see a doorbell rings, a door is opened and miraculously a tray of food appears. Is it magic? Who knows, who cares, you are looked after well and it's great grub. In summary, I go back to my first line. Do a small menu but do it well and throw in (not literally of course) some good customer service and you have a winning combination. As Arnie would say, I'll be back, but next time with the rest of the family.
Not usually a big fan of cooked breakfast, but the food at Serino's was phenomenal - genuinely out of this world - and was without doubt the tastiest cooked breakfast I've ever had. Fresh, high quality ingredients that were cooked to absolute perfection. Service was incredibly warm and attentive too, and the whole place had a really nice vibe. The experience was a lovely treat that we wholeheartedly enjoyed. Can't wait to return.
Full disclosure. The owner Ross is a friend of mine. However, that hasn’t held him back from serving up the best coffee on Teesside. I’m no connoisseur, but it is delicious. Deep, nutty with a sweetly bitter aftertaste. I can’t get enough of it. Next time, sack off your trip to Costa or Starbucks and support a cracking local business like this
Serino's is an absolute gem; great quality food with welcoming staff. Highly recommend.
